Make-A-Wish Vital Signs benefit concert branding & promotion

Design | Video

PROBLEM: Due to COVID-19, Vital Signs a cappella had to find an alternative way to perform their annual Make-A-Wish concert. With the aim of fundraising for this outstanding organization, Vital Signs needed to get the word out about this now virtual event, film two music videos as part of the concert, and organize the other organizations’ videos together for the event to be published over YouTube Live. With the aim of creating a concert as close to normal as possible, Vital Signs set out to complete everything necessary for a great concert with just over one month to finalize everything for the event.

SOLUTION: I created a social media campaign consisting of posts and stories that were easy to share and interact with; including bingo, giveaways, graphics and flyers. The posts provided information on the time of the event, how to access it on YouTube Live and how to donate. We also hung flyers around Elon University and handed out physical postcards all around campus at key locations & stores. Finally, we compiled the Vital Signs music videos, all transitional elements, all of Elon’s a cappella groups' videos, as well as the guest performers’ videos, into one cohesive video that debuted live on YouTube.

OUTCOME: Vital Signs A Cappella was able to raise over $10,000 for the children of Make-A-Wish - breaking previous year’s records (previously in person events)!

Here is the opening number of the Vital Signs concert - made especially for the first virtual concert (listen closely for natural sounds from the recording session).
